Course Description
In this ever increasing world of digital video, SMASH Video will teach students to use the moving image as a form of captivating communication and self-expression. This course will require students to use Flip Video cameras with Final Cut Express, and also build upon previous skills in Photoshop, Flash, and Audacity. Using this time-based medium, students will explore the world of video and in turn share their world with others. Online media has revolutionized the individual’s ability to consume, produce, and share perspectives on the world.
A rigorous curriculum will encourage students to draw upon foundational production skills while learning the core components of video production– storyboarding, scripting, shooting, editing, and sharing. This course will require students to plan and produce multiple short videos to be shared publicly online.
