Silent Action Packed Film
July 25th, 2008
The film that Karina Diaz and I made together was called Two Guys and One Sandwich. When I thought of what movie I should make for my silent film , I thought that I should do a funy chase scene. The plot of this movie is:
After spending time and dedication into making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the protaganist Joseph finds his beloved sandwich sandwich-napped( if that is a real word) by Josee (actually Jose).
I thought that the video was hilarious especially because it was fun to make and direct.

Walking in the Shoes of a High Schooler – Assignment 3
July 24th, 2008
For the past three years in high school, I have noticed something. There are phases that a typical high school goes through each year, no matter what year and no matter who. Although this may not be the case for all students, it IS the case for MOST students. In this video are clips of several high school students. The segments of video are broken up into phases and grouped together to show the different types of motivation, procrastination and success. The music is “Streamline” and it goes from a normal speed [to display the fact that it is the beginning og the school year and everything is going "fine" for all students], then it slows down [due to the fact that students are in the stages of procrastination and school is "slow" to them], then the music speeds up drastically [to display the mind of a high schooler that is going through stress and has to do things last minute and all at once], and finally, the music goes back to its normal tempo [because in the end, students are back to the feeling of "fine" when things are over].

FRIENDS
July 24th, 2008
This is a silent movie base on FRIENDS, the story in this movie basically explains how Lydia and I met our first year in SMASH, and how we are still together and that we are always going to be no matter what. At the end of the silent movie it expresses how friendship means a lot and that you can make this work no matter how far away you are from them you can make it work.
Assignment #3 Video: Shut Up and Let Me Go!
July 21st, 2008
This video took so much effort to make. It is not until one makes a music video do they know how hard it is to really go about making one. This project done by myself and De Vonna Jacobs helped us to have even a closer bond as sisters. Enjoy!

I hope you will understand, just as i understand that my work is late and will accept any consequence you deem necessary without complaint.

Hurricane Katrina-assignment #3
July 17th, 2008
I decided to make a silent film for my assignment #3 and I decided to make it about Hurricane Katrina. In this video in the very beginning I am not able to sleep, so I am turning and turning around my bed until I fall. When I fall from my bed I appear in some other place, soart of like a dream world or illusion that my mind is playing. In that illusion I have written in my hand Hurricane. Then suddenly i fall again and I get up again but this time something on my arm is written, which says Katrina. Then I start having this vision of a hurricane and people affected by it. I get frustrated because I can not do anything about it. Then I have another vision with help on their way to aid the people and finally my mind is relaxed and I am able to go to sleep. Basically I had a premonition of what was going to happen in New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina and I was upset that I was not able to do anything about it. But my brained calmed down after I knew that the people were going to be alright.
Popcorn
July 17th, 2008
For my silent film, i worked together with Liliana Pang to create the story of two girls in search of different methods to pop their popcorn kernels. After painstakingly filming and editing the video and the audio, our silent film was born.
Down in the River with my SMASH buddies
July 17th, 2008
Hi everyone,
Assignment #4 was to make a silent film or music video; the purpose of the project was to produce something that did not have audio and still be able to communicate. I chose to do a music video to the song “Down in the River” because it has recently become very important to me in a spiritual sense. I first head the song during a retreat I experienced just before beginning my summer session at SMASH. The most difficult part of the assignment was getting the “mothers” and “fathers” to actually go down to the creek to film; all I needed them to do was walk down some stairs, but it was so hard to actually get them to leave the dorms for a given amount of time!
Anyway, I’m really excited about having finished this video, and I’m really glad I was finally able to post it!
Assign 3

Two Guys, One Sandwich
July 17th, 2008
Once Vivian got the idea to create a movie about to guys fighting for a sandwich, I immediately thought of Jose and Joseph to play the roles. Thankfully they agreed.
The decisions made for the edit were really based on keeping all shots quick and entertaining, building up momentum to the final outcome.
We hope you enjoy. We definitely had fun filming, especially the chase scenes. It is funny and highly recommended.

Assignment 3 update
July 15th, 2008
So I decided to change the topic of my 3rd assgnment. Because I could not get a soccerbal, and because my previous idea would’ve produced a very short film, I decided to do a compare and contrast situation between a student who’s late to class and a student who is early to show the importance of attending class on time.
Outline for assignment #3
July 14th, 2008
My plan for this assignment is to either do a silent film on the topic of love, or to do a music video that shows how music and dance has changed since the 20th Century. But for right now I can not due much work because I am having technical difficulties but hopefully I will clear that up so I can have a solid foundation. But for now I am just outlining how my project is going to look like.
